Enid has over 35 years’ experience in treating clients with electrolysis and is proud of the excellent reputation she has gained by helping clients resolve their concerns regarding superfluous hair.
Electrolysis involves the insertion of a very fine disposable sterile probe into the hair follicle. The follicle is a natural opening to the skin so the skin is not pierced. Using short wave diathermy, a small amount of heat is then skilfully released into the hair follicle. The only sensation felt is a small amount of heat at the base of the hair follicle. In some cases, chemical destruction in addition to heat is used, usually to treat curly hairs with distorted hair follicles. This is called Blend electrolysis. Enid will choose which method is best for you and your hair type.
As a result, any re-growth hairs are finer, weaker and paler and eventually all hairs are destroyed. The only after-effects of the treatment are a slight redness in the area (due to the action of the heat in the skin) and this usually subsides after a couple of hours. Aftercare preparations are applied to soothe and promote skin healing.
